Governance

Building Trust
Long Term Investment Portfolio (LTP) places great emphasis on sound corporate governance practices supported by a strong commitment to applying the highest standards of professional performance to all portfolio activities. LTP governance measures aim to enhance and institutionalize effective governance practices to serve as the foundation for the portfolio's future strategy, ensuring its continuity and stability on the long run. This includes focusing on regulatory requirements, relevant legislation, and global investment practices while adhering to corporate values of ease, adaptability, international portfolio management standards, and common interests and benefits.
The general framework of LTP governance is based on defining the scope of operations, prepared according to international standards including those of the Basel Committee and instructions issued by the General Assembly of the Libyan Investment Authority (LIA), as well as instructions from legislative and regulatory authorities in Libya and other controls and standards tailored to LTP activities to achieve desired objectives, including the preservation and growth of portfolio assets.

LTP Board of Directors is responsible for overseeing its operations by developing and implementing the vision and mission of the portfolio. The board bears the responsibility for the portfolio's success by achieving sustainable added value for stakeholders within the framework of prudent controls. The board performs its duties, tasks, and responsibilities as stipulated in the portfolio's bylaws and applicable legislation directly or through committees, including the audit committee, risk committee, and investment committee.
